Dance India Dance auditions were held in 11 big cities. First Auditions were held in Calcutta, a total of 100 contestants were selected and send to Dance India Dance Team for final selection. Out of the 100 only 18 made up to compete in the show.

Hosts Tarana and Jay welcomed the contestants at Calcutta Auditions, Judges panel includes Geeta Kapur who has choreographed the famous song Roshni Se from the movie Ashoka, Terrence Lewis who worked for Lagaan and Nach movies, Remo D’Souza the choreographer of Singh is King. All are confident that this show will be a big hit.

Another contestant prasonjit who comes wearing a towel was rejected.

The Opening was Superb… All the three Judges are also looking very charming. Mr. Remo is GR888..
Miss Gogoi danced like Lady Prabhudeva…
I like this show…but sorry to say that I dont think even the judges know what they looking for in dancers..majority of the guys selected only can do hip hop..and all the girls can do classical…so if the show is called “dance india dance”…where are the other flavors of the dances in India? Out of three judges, I can only give my props to Remo…sorry but I do not know much work from other two. May be judges should announce what exactly they want to see in dance…classicals, folks, hip hop, bollywood masti..etc etc. otherwise this show is useless and just made to mock the one who cannot dance.

i am looking forward to this show.. i love dat 1 really cutee judge.. the 1 lighter skin mann..he is a very nice dancer n smart.. i even like the girl judge that sits in da middle.. i like the way she laughs n talkz 2 people.. i bet this show is goin 2 b full of drama.. cant wait.. [=
All the contestants in D.I.D. are great dancers…and whoever sees the participants in one or two category of dancing i am sorry guys but you are making mistakes. The dancers are superb in their own categories but what the judges intend to think is to properly groove them so they can be the best in all categories of dancing.
The judges are really good and they have got microscopic visions…I have never seen Indian judges of a dancing competition going on in such details.
Whoever wins in this competition is going to be the best of the best dancer in the country…and I am really looking forward to one of the best dancers `Sunita Gogoi`…She is a hard worker and what I like most about her is the devotion and pick up speed on a move.
Dancing schools in Assam are not upgraded as a result we are very far away from different categories of modern dancing…but I am really amused by the young girl as how she picks up the dancing moves which we never tried in our lifetime.
Surprising enough for me but she has done it and now she is one of the stars in D.I.D. Consistent campaigning have been done in the whole State…I have never seen such campaigning of a political leader too.
So Dance Sunita Dance…and in future I wanna see Hrithik dancing on your finger tips and that day I`ll say Dance…Dance Hrithik Dance!!!
