“Rules for Dance India Dance Doubles Show

• There is no any fees for Auditions.
• Age Limit : 16 to 35 years (born on or before 31st Dec. 1994 or on or after 25th Oct. 1975)
• Participants have to come in pair for Auditions.
• Pair combination : female-male / male-male / female-female
• Entry in auditions will be on first come first basis for first 500 participants pairs or till 2 p.m. at the auditions venue.
• Participants shall carry their costumes and equipments for the audition.

Farah Khan, mother of three kids, shared her thoughts on managing her home and career together. “Sometimes when my kids fall ill, I [wonder] ‘why am I doing all this things if my kids are not well?’ At that moment, I think that I should leave everything.” So why does Farah take up reality shows if she feels it is difficult to manage? “Well, I take all those realities which are shot near my house –  even ‘Entertainment Ke…’ is being shot at Yash Raj, which is quite near to my house,” explains Farah.

Farah Khan is seen judging many reality shows on TV these days. “Actually season three of ‘Entertainment…’ is my 10th year to judge a reality show. If you count the shows and their seasons since ‘Indian Idol,’ ‘Jo Jeeta Wohi Dancing Star,’ ‘Nach Baliye 4,’ and so on, and now with this season 2 of ‘Entertainment…,’ it is my 10th year to be on the judges panel. But after this season of ‘Entertainment…’ I am going to take a break, otherwise not only I but the audience also will feel bored to see the same face again and again,” says an overwhelmed Farah.

However, she admits that TV didn’t come naturally to her. “I learnt if from Sajid.” Farah’s brother Sajid judged for the first time with India’s Got Talent Season 2. “I went to his shows and picked it up from him. He taught me how to behave and be more interesting on TV. Now I can say I am pretty good,” she adds.

When asked how she feels about her brother judging another show, she said, “When it comes to judging, I am senior to Sajid. Though I think that Sajid can give better tips to the contestants, I can judge a person in a more proper manner.”

Do the kids recognize mommy on screen? “No, as they are two and half years old, for them there are two mommies. One is without make up, which they see at home and one is on-screen mamma with make up. But yes, they can make out Sajid when they see him on hoardings. They say that this is Sajid Mama (Uncle)”.

Edit: The news just came in that Jay Bhanushali will be coming back to host the Grand Finale along with the current host, Manish Paul! Hopefully, the duo would rock it!

**Edit 2: As we all know, many celebrities attend the Grand Finale of some shows. And its no different for DID L’il Masters. The buzz is that along with the Headmasters (Farah Khan and Sandip Sorparkar), the Masters (Remo D’Souza, Geeta Kapoor, and Terence Lewis), and the Grandmaster Mithun Da, the Bollywood Superstar, Anil Kapoor, and his daughter, Sonam Kapoor, will also be present at the Grand Finale. Looks like the Grand Finale will be a star-studded occasion!

“It’s believed that one thing that man can’t ever get back is ‘The time that flew off’. Also time passes in such brisk pace that when we try and retrospect our past it seems as if it was just yesterday when Zee TV’s kids dance reality show Dance India Dance L’il Masters had begun it’s hunt for the most talented dancer with 17 contestants and its now down to the top 4.

A little birdie informs us that, “In this Fridays episode it would be Dharmesh Ke Dhinchak Ruturaj who would bid adieu from the show with Jeetumoni from the same team being declared as the second highest vote gainer.”

The show also saw a shift in the contestant getting the highest vote. “This week it was Manoj from Mayuresh Vrushali ke Dhoom Dhadake who received the highest vote”, adds our source.

As far as Saturday’s performances are concerned our Khabroo said, “This week there were no celebrity guests on the show but the participants presented their duet performances with the partakers of previous season. It was Saajan-Atul, Kishore -Manoj, Siddhesh-Ruturaj, Prince-Jeetumoni and Alisha-Vaishnavi who grooved together. They all performed equally well and were declared as the best dancers of the week. Also the guest dancers were given mobile phones as gift.”

The Grand Finale to be held in Pune will be graced by the star cast of the promising movie Aisha.

“Dance India Dance L’il Masters is reaching its finale and the coming episode is considered as one of the best episodes so far atleast performance wise.

In this episode, all the three mentors  of Dance India Dance – Remo, Geeta and Terence are joined by celebrities Prachi Desai and Emraan Hashmi. Prachi and Emraan had come to promote their upcoming film Once Upon a Time in Mumbai.

All the skippers did creative acts in the episode. But unfortunately it was a bad day for Vatsal from Amrita’s team and his elimination has moved Amrita out from the competition. The one other person from Amrita’s team, Khushboo has still not recovered from her fractured hand to perform.

‘Best skipper of the week’ title was awarded to all the mentors-  Jai, Mayuresh – Vrushali and Dharmesh [AnnieJ wonders why Amrita isn't mentioned!] and ‘Best performer of the week’ title was awarded to Vaishnavi. The episode will be telecasted this Saturday.

A little birdie informs us that the grand finale will be held in Pune on the 7th of August.

We got an opportunity to interview Vrushali at the DID Little Masters rehearsal. Vrushali is not only a dancer but is also an actor and has done a lot of work in Marathi films, serials, etc. She is elegant, well educated, intelligent, hard-working, matured and a very jovial person to talk to. Yes she is very lively and talkative. Lets see what the gorgeous Vrushali has to say about DID little Masters.

Q: How has your experience been so far with DID little masters?

Vrushali: DID little masters has been fun so far. Kids are very naughty and fun to be with. I was a contestant last year and this year I am co-choreographing with Mayuresh. After being with these kids I am excited to have children of my own (Laughs Vrushali, obviously she is joking, she is too young to get married and have children. Apart from that I am not sure if she is dating someone). DID little masters is a learning experience. It teaches us what is it to be in the choreographers shoes. Its challenging, its difficult as children have their mood swings and many other issues. However, its been a pleasant experience so far. Mayuresh and me are connecting a lot. We share similar ideas and concepts.

Q: Which was your favorite performance in the previous episode? Why?

Vrushali: Obviously my salsa (Uff teri aada). My two little babies rocked the stage. It was very difficult initially for the kids to get the right form and posture but later when they got the right visual references they did a great job. This performance also got the Lux best performance of the day titles and the judges including Mithun Da loved the performance.

Q:  How is DID little Masters different from any other dance reality shows currently on air on the other channels?

Vrushali: DID is diffrent as the sole objective of DID is dance. Unlike other shows, its focus is on showcasing the young talent and promoting its contestants.

Q: Comment on Sandip and Farah.

Vrushali: Sandip is the king of Ballroom dance in India. He is just an amazing person, very much approachable, cool to talk to. He has a great personality. He is so good-looking and handsome. Farah is the most amazing choreographer in Bollywood today. I loved her Om Shanti Om and I think that she is the only lady who can give tuff competition to the men of our industry. She is a force to be reckoned with. Girl-power rocks!

Q: Who is your favorite dancer?

Vrushali: I love all the dancers from So you think you can dance. I am a very big fan of Mia Michaels. Love her routines. She is brilliant, untouchable. I love Vaijyanthi Mala, my professor Vaibhav Arekar and Terence Lewis.

Q: Message to all.

Vrushali: Honesty never fails to reach, so always perform with cent percent honesty and you shall always be victorious.
After we were done wit the interview, all the kids jumped on her, hugged her and she almost had to struggle to break free. Kids love her immensely. Mayuresh has gone out for some work so we couldnt speak to him.
We would like to wish the whole group luck and success.
(Vrushali has completed her 12th in Science. Later she opted for a 5 years Degree in classical dancing called Bachelors in Fine arts in Bharatnatyam. She is only trained in classical, however she performed almost all the styles in DID. She has Choreographed for three Marathi movies: Chingi, Tya Ratni Paus Padat Hota, etc.)

A little birdie informed us that, “this Fridays episode would showcase 12 contestants performing for the wild card entry including the stand by as well as the eliminated ones. So it was like a double bonanza for [SPOILER TEMPORARILY REMOVED]‘s team as both the wild card entries [Kid 1] and [Kid 2] joined their troop as per the format … [The rest is a spoiler, so I removed it for now! ]

Our source also added that, “Saturday’s episode witnessed grooving performances from all the top 10 contestants and on the basis of the audience voting eliminations would take place from the coming episode. And Abhishek Bachchan made his presence felt for promoting his upcoming movie Raavan and they also celebrated the Birthday of Grand Master Mithun Da by cutting the cake.”

So get ready to dance with the top 10 contestants from this week.”

So, who do you want to make it in through the wild card? Feel free to discuss anything wild card related

Sandip Soparrkar has choreographed two dance sequences for Kites. So what next? “I am choreographing for Priyanka Chopra in Saat Khoon Maaf,” he says.

The model-turned choreographer is also the celebrity judge on Dance India Dance Little Masters on Zee TV. “I have been part of at least five reality shows. The latest one has its own share of challenges because every kid is so talented and it’s hard to eliminate any, but as the format of the show goes, ultimately there can only be one winner,” he says. The choreographer, however, feels that owing to dance reality shows, a lot of new dance forms are being experimented with in Indian cinema. “Dance forms like Cha Cha Cha, Jive, Latin American, African American and others are being experimented with, which is good thing. But when I compare the Indian classical with western dance forms, I will undoubtedly vouch for the former. I am in awe of Mohiniattam, Kathak and Bharatanatyam,” he says.

Soparrkar has worked with international singers like Madonna, Britney Spears and Shakira. He has even choreographed for Hollywood director Rob Marshall’s film Nine with Penelope Cruz, Daniel-Day Lewis, Nicole Kidman, Judi Dench and Sophia Loren. “I have worked with Britney Spears for Womanizer. And I have taken classes for Madonna and Shakira.

Their professionalism is amazing. Once I had to conduct a session for Shakira at 6 in the morning. I reached her house at 5.45 am. But Shakira was ready even before me. But here in India, it’s a different scene altogether.

Plus, when our stars come over, they take regular chai breaks and the entire session is disrupted. The schedule here is always jam-packed; consequently there is more pressure,” he says.

Sandip debuted in Bollywood with Shyam Benegal’s Zubeida. He has also choreographed for The Myth and cherishes working with Mallika Sherawat. “She is very simple by nature,” he says. A German-trained ballroom dance teacher, Sandip is a thorough professional. He was recognised and honoured by the Queen of England and Prince of Wales who had written a personal letter of appreciation to him for promoting ballroom and Latin American dance culture in India. He graduated from the Ballroom Dance Teachers Training School in Bonn, Germany. “Ballroom dancing was not so popular in India back then. The question is about awareness of dance forms. I have worked abroad, and when you are a doing a racy Indian dance form, they call it a Bhangra. And here in India, when you do a western dance form, they call it Salsa, which is not always the case. Also, most western dance forms are set to Bollywood tunes, which cannot bring in the desired originality,” he says.

Talking about his projects down South he says, “I am half Tamilian. My mother hails from the South. But I can’t speak or understand Tamil. I have done only one project down South for the Malayalam film Akasha Gopuram with Mohanlal.” Sandip is in awe of Prabhu Deva. “He is an icon, and I look forward to an opportunity to work with him,” he says. “MJ is an international legend and it is a treat watching his fans imitate his steps. It is difficult to match his original moonwalk though,” he smiles.
