“Farah Khan, the new Grand Master of Zee TV’s DID L’il Masters is upbeat about the new job in hand, and also talks about her personal likings when it comes to dance.
What was the principal reason for you to accept judging DID L’il Masters?
The first reason is that Dance India Dance is a big brand, and it has given the industry some great talents in the last two seasons. This is a reality show for kids, and I feel I am now equipped to take up this job. If this show had come to me say, two years earlier, that is even before my kids were born, I would not have taken it.
What according to you is the biggest challenge for you as judge?
The ability with which we handle children, the extent to which we can talk openly with them, and above all, the manner in which we guide and handle their parents are the main things to look forward to.
Don’t you think that reality shows put lot of pressure on the minds of children?
It will be a pressure situation for them only if we make the environment like that. L’il Masters is beginning during the summer vacation for kids, so they will not be having the added pressure of missing school. This experience will be like a workshop for them where they can learn various things related to dancing.
Mithun, Remo, Geeta and Terence have been the face of DID. How different will you be when compared to them?
I can’t say this now; viewers will have to give their take on this after the show begins.
Which kind of dance form you loved to dance on when you were young?
I would dance on all the popular filmy numbers; I loved to dance on Helen number and those who came to my place were forced to see that.
Has choreography taken a back seat now that you are a Producer?
It’s not like that. I was initially busy in the making of my first movie Om Shanti Om. Later, I delivered my kids, and now I am busy with Tees Maar Khan. However, I have recently managed to steal time and choreograph for the movie Housefull.
Do you have plans to rope in fresh young talents from this show for your upcoming movies?
Yes I would definitely take them. Recently I have offered Shakti a promotion song in my movie.
How is your rapport with Sandip Soparrkar ?
I know him since Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa days. He was the Technical choreographer then; he is a really nice guy and we get along very well.
Which are the reality shows you really enjoyed being part of?
Indian Idol 1 and Jo Jeeta Wohi Superstar were good. I did not enjoy much being part of Indian Idol 2. Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa was a good experience, Nach Baliye was also good. But the best till date has been Entertainment Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega.
There are many dance forms introduced nowadays – what’s your take on it?
It’s a very good thing but the kids should have a good hold on classical dancing. I would first send my children to learn classical dancing, have a good foundation there, and then learn any other form of dancing.
Lastly your personal favorite dance form?
I like the dance duets. I love these lifts when it comes to dance.

I am happy to hear that Farah Khan thinks classical dance is an important and essential foundation for dancers. Any thoughts about any of her responses? I invite you to comment below!
i agree with farah khan that classical is good enough for kids esp girls
@john wayne

yup we just like to make the gotham city a better place mr wayne ,lolz if u got my joke else nvm .
@annie
yup i agree that we look forward to ur enthusiastic comments
and comments and it rubs off on me , just letting u know that u r doing an awessome job .
i honestly dont understand why there is such a big hype over classical dances
@brkdancekid
I LOL’d at your joke!!! And yay for enthusiasm!! :]
@A__A
I would say classical dances are under-appreciated…. but that’s just *my* opinion. From seeing the audition episodes, it seems classical forms are alive and well though
I guess classical can be a good foundation because it looks good to have under your belt, plus as a kid, you probably learn greater degrees of discipline. Being in the guru-student relationship probably molds you into the ideal student….
… or something like that, lol.
The grace that comes after learning classical dance cannot be matched. So, yes, classical dance is a must.
About Farah Khan, I am just bored of watching her in every show. lol
well i dont know.. i think hip-hop and international dances have their own grace
i guess its each one’s view but i dont think classical is a must(and theyve seemed to have selected quite a few classical ones
)
Hey!! maybe i missed it earlier… But who is the guy who comes to stage time and again with the mike?? Is it kishore or some duplicate of his???
and i thought kruti and pervez were mentors for lil masters.. where did they disappear?? cause from what i remember i saw them on DID2 being announces and interviewd as mentors… maybe i missed a few eppisodes. so kindly enlighten me…
@Daris
Who are you talking about? The new host is Manish Paul. Maybe you’re confused? Nobody looks like Kishore O__o
And Kruti and Parvez were not ever rumored to be mentors, I don’t think. We’ve known for at least 2 months who the skippers would be.
@anniej,
I am not talking abt the host dear… I am talking about the guy who used to come and distribute the mikes to the kids!! the guy used to wear a bandana on the head and a 3/4ths always..
I had seen interview of Kruti interacting with the kids and been hailed as a mentor… Some news reports also…
Maybe some odd news here and there… anyways waht the heck…
Enjoy the Show!!
@Daris
OH! That guy who brings out the microphone! He’s just someone. He isn’t Kishore, I don’t think – he’s more lanky and doesn’t have the same walk as Kishore anyway. They are also built differently.
As for other potential skippers…. guess I just missed it! Lol.
@anniej
hmmm… i guess you are right about it..
Seems no one has developed a personal favorite till now.. the forums look much cleaner and healthier these days back from the shakti vs dharmesh days… Phew!!!
I must admit!! seeing people fighting and bitching(could not believe guys were more prominent in this part) was turning out to be more entertaining than the show itself…
guess you moderators are far relieved now…
all the best..
Guys enjoy the show!!! and lets not give ME much entertainment here…
hello, any one watching ”ZARA NACHKE DIKHA ” i feel all ideas of dance they are coping from D I D i think so is any one thik like so.
i agree with farah.
